01The visual authority hierarchy

A photograph is evidence only when its context survives.

Images may help identify equipment, explain an installation or support a project record. They do not independently prove compliance, acceptance, authority or measured performance. The caption and source status must state the permitted decision use.

02REQUIRED SHOT FAMILIES

Capture the system, not only the beauty shot.

The exact shot list is adjusted to the product and site, but each assignment should preserve identity, interfaces, installation condition and operating context.

    Establishing context

    Show the site, operating environment and surrounding infrastructure without exposing restricted information.

    Equipment identity

    Record the exact product, nameplate, serial, revision and configuration needed to connect the image to a controlled record.

  3. 03

    Installation condition

    Show mounting, clearances, cabling, protection, earthing, weather sealing and interfaces before concealment.

03Release controls

Six gates before an image becomes public.

    Authority

    Photographer, project owner and release authority are recorded.

  2. 02

    Traceability

    Date, site, product, serial and related project record are identifiable.

  3. 03

    Authenticity

    No object, label, terminal, defect or operating condition is generated, removed or materially altered.

  4. 04

    Privacy

    Faces, screens, addresses and client information are captured only when authorized.

  5. 05

    Safety

    No photograph requires unsafe proximity, energized exposure or interruption of work controls.

  6. 06

    Release

    Internal evidence, client-review material and public assets remain visibly separated.
